Your Data, Your Rights

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 March 2026

1. Who We Are

TuneTribute is an AI-powered music gift service that creates personalised songs for special occasions. We are the data controller responsible for your personal information. You can reach us at any time at support@tunetribute.co.uk.

We are committed to handling your personal data with care, transparency, and in full compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Give Us Directly
  • Account details — your name and email address when you register or make a purchase.
  • Song request details — the recipient's name, occasion, genre, vocal preferences, and any personal story or memories you share to help us create your song.
  • Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Communications — messages you send to our support team.
2.2 Information We Collect Automatically
  • Usage data — pages visited, features used, and how you navigate our service.
  • Device and browser information — browser type, operating system, and IP address.
  • Cookie data — see Section 7 below for our full cookie policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data only for legitimate purposes. Specifically, we use it to:

  • Create and deliver your personalised song.
  • Process your payment and manage your account or subscription.
  • Send you transactional communications (order confirmations, song ready notifications).
  • Respond to support requests and resolve disputes.
  • Improve the quality, accuracy, and performance of our AI models and service features.
  • Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

We will only send you marketing emails if you have given us explicit consent to do so. You can withdraw that consent at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" in any marketing email or by emailing us directly.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in industry-standard, encrypted relational databases with access controls that restrict who can view or modify your information. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, accidental loss, or destruction.

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we take every reasonable precaution, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

5. Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. Your card details are submitted directly to Stripe and are never transmitted to or stored on TuneTribute's servers. We retain only the information necessary to manage your purchase history and subscription status (such as the last four digits of your card and billing address, as provided by Stripe).

6. Sharing Your Data

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it only with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate TuneTribute, including:

  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Email service providers — transactional and marketing communications.
  • Analytics platforms — to help us understand usage and improve the service (see Section 7).
  • AI generation providers — your song prompt is submitted to our AI music generation partner to produce your track. Prompts may be processed on servers outside the UK, but only under appropriate data transfer safeguards.

We may also disclose your information if required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TuneTribute, our users, or others.

7. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your experience on our platform. These include:

  • Essential cookies — required for the service to function (e.g. session authentication, CSRF protection). These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors use our site so we can make improvements. We use tools such as Google Analytics for this purpose.
  • Preference cookies — remember your settings between visits.

You can manage or disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings at any time. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the service.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data and song history for as long as your account is active, or for as long as needed to provide you with the service. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records (for example, financial transaction data, which we must retain for six years under UK tax law).

Generated song audio files that have not been purchased will be deleted automatically after 90 days.

9. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to legal obligations.
  • Restriction — ask us to restrict how we process your data in certain circumstances.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Objection — object to us processing your data for direct marketing or on the basis of legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@tunetribute.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we handle your request, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

10. Children's Privacy

TuneTribute is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their personal information, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to remove it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you by email if the changes significantly affect how we handle your data. Continued use of TuneTribute after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
